Final Fantasy VII Revelation Trailers
Square Enix has released six official Final Fantasy VII Revelation trailers as of Nov 7, 2026, from the Jun 5, 2026 Summer Game Fest reveal to the Sep 9 Nintendo Direct spot, about 22 minutes of footage in all. The 9:56 Combat and Exploration Deep Dive shows the most gameplay.
Square Enix has put out six official trailers for Final Fantasy VII Revelation as of Nov 7, 2026: the Reveal Trailer and the Gameplay Introduction at Summer Game Fest on Jun 5, 2026, The Planet's Crisis at Gamescom Opening Night Live on Aug 25, the Release Date Reveal Trailer and the 10-minute Combat and Exploration Deep Dive at PlayStation's State of Play on Sep 3, and a 45-second Nintendo Direct spot on Sep 9. Added up, that is 22 minutes and 26 seconds of official footage, and the reveal opens on the planet's answer to Meteor: the Weapons, awakened "to stand against the celestial threat." Below is every trailer in order, where it was shown, and what it revealed, with the systems themselves left to their own pages.

Reveal Trailer (Jun 5, 2026)
Revelation was the closing announcement of Summer Game Fest on Jun 5, 2026, and its 2:22 reveal is mostly mood: a narrator sets up Sephiroth's "dominion through reunion" and the falling star, the party trades one-liners, and then someone spots a Weapon. "Far as I can tell, these things don't distinguish between friend and foe," comes the answer, the first sign that the planet's guardians are enemies of the party too. Kotaku's Rebekah Valentine noted the same day that the trailer itself does not show much of the game; that job fell to the Gameplay Introduction that followed.
The trailer closes on Cloud's promise to his friends and a narrator's "At last, the promise is fulfilled. The journey ends here." That is the line Square Enix chose to sell the game as the end of the trilogy, and the tagline on the official website runs the same way: "Everything leads here." Press read plenty into its shots; Kotaku listed nine details, among them a shot of the whole party on the Highwind without Cloud, which Kotaku tied to the original's long stretch with Tifa and Cid leading while Cloud is out of action, and Cid not smoking in his portrait. Those are readings of the footage, not statements from Square Enix; what they may mean for the plot is on Final Fantasy VII Revelation Story.
Gameplay Introduction and the Summer Game Fest stage show (Jun 5, 2026)
Right after the reveal, director Naoki Hamaguchi walked on stage and announced a game "launching simultaneously on all platforms," the first time in the remake trilogy that no console waited its turn (more on Final Fantasy VII Revelation Platforms and File Size). He then introduced Matt Mercer, the voice of Vincent Valentine, who narrated an extended look at the game live. GameSpot's 11:55 upload of the whole segment is the one to watch for the stage moments; Square Enix's own 5:19 Gameplay Introduction is the same footage without the crowd.
The Gameplay Introduction opens on the Highwind, "the pride of the Shinra fleet," and promises "our most expansive open world yet," naming three places: the outskirts of Midgar, the Mideel Archipelago and the warrior nation of Wutai. A comic exchange about jumping leads to the parachute drop, the way the party gets from airship to ground. How that works is on Final Fantasy VII Revelation Highwind.
The middle third is combat. The narration calls the hybrid battle system "established in REMAKE and refined in REBIRTH" now "perfected in REVELATION," and runs through switching party members, Tactical Mode, synergies and summons. Vincent then gets his own segment (gunslinger, former Turk, the Galian Beast "at the press of a button") and Cid his (a lance that closes distance or sweeps an area). The details are on Final Fantasy VII Revelation Combat, Vincent Valentine in Final Fantasy VII Revelation and Cid Highwind in Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
This is also where FITS was named for the first time: "Function-Integrated Tactical Suitwear," new uniforms "imbued with unique movesets." The trailer shows outfits but names no jobs; the four FITS were only listed in September's Deep Dive. See Final Fantasy VII Revelation FITS System.
The Gameplay Introduction ends on the Weapons, "the planet itself has unleashed its last line of defense," "ancient beasts that are larger-than-life," and a final call to "stand together. One last time." Square Enix's first written details, two days later, named the new regions and confirmed that even the Weapons are enemies the party must fight. Each Weapon shown so far is on Final Fantasy VII Revelation Weapons.
The Switch 2 reveal (Jun 12, 2026)
A week later, Nintendo of America posted the Reveal Trailer on its own channel as "Reveal Trailer - Nintendo Switch 2" (2:24). It runs 2:24 against the original's 2:22, and Vi.ki has not compared the two frame by frame; its point was to put the game in front of Nintendo's audience, since Remake and Rebirth had reached Switch 2 only years after their PlayStation launches. The Switch 2 version has its own page: Final Fantasy VII Revelation Switch 2.
The Planet's Crisis (Aug 25, 2026)
Hamaguchi introduced the second trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live, and it is about the Weapons. It opens on a public address to "my fellow citizens," assailed by Meteor and "by towering monstrosities turned weapons like the one that made landfall outside Midgar." The speaker is not named in the trailer. Game Informer's Eric Van Allen counted Ruby, Emerald and Ultima Weapon in the footage, and the release window was still only spring 2027.
The rest is the party arguing over what the Weapons are. "The planet sees us as another threat to her well-being, and rightfully so," says one voice; another calls them "weapons of mass destruction"; the verdict is "Only one thing to do. We fight." Of the six trailers this is the one that leans hardest into large-scale battles, and its 2:00 is almost all action. IGN's 1:52 "Official Gameplay Trailer | gamescom 2026" went up the same day.
Release Date Reveal Trailer (Sep 3, 2026)
At PlayStation's State of Play on Sep 3, 2026, the third trailer gave the date, Apr 8, 2027, and opened pre-orders (PlayStation Blog, Sep 3, 2026). Its structure is simple: each party member says why they fight. Yuffie introduces herself as "the white rose of Wutai," who left her homeland "to rid the world of the shadow of Sephiroth," and Red XIII speaks of his duty "like all the Watchers before me."
The closing line is the trailer's one hard fact about the party: "it's nothing the eight of us can't handle." Square Enix's TGS report later confirmed a group totaling eight members. Who the eight are, and who is missing from the line-up, is covered on Final Fantasy VII Revelation Characters.
Combat and Exploration Deep Dive (Sep 3, 2026)
The same State of Play carried the longest and most useful video so far, a 9:56 narrated walk through the game that Square Enix titled "Combat and Exploration Deep Dive Trailer." It opens on the Highwind and a "leap of faith" from its deck, then the Weapons "that have recently awakened to defend the planet." If you watch one Revelation video, we think it should be this one: it is the only official footage that shows a full loop of flying, landing, exploring a town, a side quest and a card game, with the systems named as they appear.
In order, the Deep Dive shows Piko the chocobo in the field and in battle, the four FITS (Warrior, Knight, Black Mage and Summoner), Cid and Vincent's synergies, the Highwind as a base, switching characters in the field, Wutai with its cats and grappling gun, Rocket Town, fast travel, Gongaga overrun by Malboros, and characters from the wider Compilation such as Cissnei. It ends with cutscenes at double speed, a quest that changes with the character who takes it, and Red XIII's new Queen's Blood saga. Game Informer's Wesley LeBlanc wrote that it highlights Wutai, and Kotaku's Ethan Gach called it an extended look at the open-world gameplay. Each topic has its page: Piko the Chocobo, Final Fantasy VII Revelation FITS System, Wutai, Final Fantasy VII Revelation Side Quests and Queen's Blood in Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
Nintendo Direct (Sep 9, 2026)
The shortest trailer, 45 seconds in the Sep 9 Nintendo Direct, recaps the premise (Cloud and his crew setting out to stop Meteor, "the ultimate destructive spell") and the Highwind, then gives the Switch 2 date, Apr 8, and says "Pre-orders begin later today on Nintendo eShop." Switch 2 digital pre-orders had been held back when the other platforms opened on Sep 3, and Final Weapon reported them open that day.
Footage shown at events (not trailers)
Two later showings put new footage in front of audiences without a trailer on YouTube. At Tokyo Game Show (Sep 17 to 21, 2026), Square Enix ran a playable demo, the special chapter "The Party Assembles," set in the Whirlwind Maze. At New York Comic Con on Oct 8, the English cast panel "One Last Ride" showed footage of the last recording sessions. Neither became an official upload as of Nov 7, 2026. What the demos contained is on Final Fantasy VII Revelation Previews.
Where to watch the trailers
The FINAL FANTASY channel on YouTube is the source for every trailer above, and the moments on this page play from it except the Nintendo Direct spot (Nintendo of America) and the stage show (GameSpot's upload of the full Summer Game Fest segment). PlayStation, IGN and GameSpot reposted each trailer with their own titles, and PlayStation's Deep Dive runs 9:50 against Square Enix's 9:56. Square Enix's Sep 3 press release asks that its trailers sit behind a neutral age gate, so a copy may ask some viewers to confirm their age.
What we think the next trailer will be
We think the next trailer comes at The Game Awards in December 2026, since Square Enix has shown Revelation at nearly every major showcase of 2026. We expect it to be the first story trailer: none of the six so far spends more than a few seconds on Aerith, Zack or the North Crater, and the release is five months away. We also expect a launch trailer in early April 2027, as Rebirth had on its launch day, Feb 29, 2024. Our bigger calls are on Predictions.
